ECO POLICY

At Valley Marble and Granite we take every care to ensure that our work is produced with as little environmental impact as possible. We have had solar panels fitted at out workshop, recycle the water that we use during the slab cutting process and recycle all of our stone offcuts.

Solar Panels

We have 56 Solar panels fitted to the roof of the workshop, producing a maximum output of 15kw. This gives us an average saving of around 40% on our electricity bill every year – but more importantly – the panels have enabled us to significantly reduce our carbon footprint and we have avoided producing 40 tons of CO2 to date. We have an app that provides more info on this so please ask if you would like to find out more about our energy system.

Water Recycling

All of the water that we use during production is 100% recycled and topped up with rainwater.  We have installed our own rainwater collection facility along with a special drainage system located throughout the warehouse. The system drains our used water into a holding pit, from there it is pumped into a settling tank where the water is separated for reuse and any stone sludge is removed and emptied in to a large collection bag, which is then emptied into a large skip for recycling at a local quarry.

Stone Off Cuts and Broken Material

All of our off-cuts and broken material are re-used. Some pieces are kept for use as samples to show to customers and the rest are sent to a quarry for recycling.
